On Thursday, October 2, 2014, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff‘s Office narcotics detectives served a bench warrant on David Cole at a residence in the 400 block of Reg Park in Reserve. The bench warrant was issued July 16 for Cole for failure to appear in court on a possession of methamphetamine charge. Upon making contact with Cole, detectives smelled a chemical odor 
associated with clandestine methamphetamine laboratories emitting from the residence.
Narcotics detectives obtained and executed a judicial court authorized narcotics search warrant at the residence. Detectives recovered six active “one pot” clandestine cooks, items used to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine, approximately one gram of methamphetamine ($150), and approximately 1.2 grams of marijuana ($40). Because of the volatile nature of methamphetamine laboratories, detectives called a specialized company to disassemble the laboratory safely.
Detectives arrested and booked David Cole, 34, with creation or operation of a clandestine laboratory for the unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine (6), possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, drug free zone violation, possession or distribution of drug paraphernalia, and a bench warrant. He remains in custody in lieu of a $243,000 bond. Cole was arrested eleven times in St. John the Baptist Parish since June 2003.
Detectives also arrested and booked Jamie Scurlock, 30, with creation or operation of a clandestine laboratory for the unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine (6), possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, drug free zone violation, and possession or distribution of drug paraphernalia. She remains in custody in lieu of a $213,000 bond. Scurlock was arrested three times in St. John the Baptist Parish since August 2011.
