On Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at 2:18 pm, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a residence in the 2300 block of Virginian Colony Drive in LaPlace for a burglar alarm activation and found the residence burglarized. The victim reported that a video gaming system, several pair of shoes, and currency were stolen from the residence.
Through the review of video surveillance, detectives identified one of three perpetrators. On Thursday, detectives arrested a 16-year-old LaPlace boy and booked him with simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling and simple criminal damage to property. He was released to the custody of his grandmother.
The investigation is ongoing. Detectives anticipate additional arrests, as they work to identify the other perpetrators.
