On Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at 3:12 am, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff Office deputies responded to the 100 block of Joe Parquet Circle in LaPlace for the report of gunshots heard in the area. The 26-year-old female complainant told deputies that she heard three or four gunshots directly behind her residence. Her residence was occupied by two adult women and four children, ages seven and under. No one was injured.
When a deputy conducted a survey of the area, he saw some burning paper that had ignited the grass under the kitchen window of the residence and detected the odor of gasoline. The deputy smothered the flames with his boots. Further investigation revealed a bullet hole into the residence.
