Tramon Dixon, 29, of Garyville was arrested Wednesday, August 16, 2017, in connection with an aggravated assault and the illegal use of weapons.
On Wednesday, August 9, 2017, deputies responded to the 400 block of Little Hope Street in Garyville in reference to a disturbance with weapons. Upon arrival, the 27-year-old victim told deputies she was involved in a physical altercation with her live-in boyfriend identified as Tramon Dixon. The victim told officers when she broke away from Dixon and ran outside, he walked to his vehicle and retrieved a gun. The victim said she began running, holding her 1½ year old child, and her two other children, ages 2 and 6, were running beside her through the yard toward South Emilie Street. As they were running, the victim heard a gunshot. As the victim was notifying 911 on her phone, Dixon fled the scene in an unknown direction. Officers canvassed the area, but were unable to locate him. The victim and children were uninjured.
A judicial warrant was obtained Monday, August 14, 2017 for Dixon’s arrest, and he turned himself in August 16, 2017. He was booked with aggravated assault upon a dating partner (felony) and illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities. He is being held in custody in lieu of a $2,250 bond.
