Sgt. Kendel Harris recently completed deviant sexual behavior training to gain skills and knowledge to better conduct sex crimes investigations. Sgt. Harris, the SJSO sex crimes officer, attended the class August 3-5 at the Bossier City Sheriff’s Office. Sgt. Harris learned special skills that are needed to investigate violent, sexually motivated crimes, as well as procedures to collect the proper evidence needed for prosecution. The psychology of a sex offender as well as the victim, the principles of victimology in sexual assaults, and techniques for interviewing adult and child victims as well as interviewing suspects were among the topics.
