Sheriff Mike Tregre and several of his fellow officers enjoyed a great morning April 15, 2024 at East St. John High School during Pancakes with the Police.
Students with high scores on the American College Test and other standardized tests were treated to the breakfast, and at the same time, celebrated their achievements with Sheriff Tregre and other officers of the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Tregre and the officers congratulated the students for a job well done and encouraged them to always strive to do their best.
He encouraged students to enhance life skills to be a productive member of society. Since keyboard skills are essential in nearly every career, Sheriff Tregre suggested that students work to improve their typing speed and accuracy. Also, employers often want workers who can speak another language, therefore, Sheriff Tregre said it’s important for students to become proficient at speaking a foreign language.
No matter what career you decide on, Sheriff Tregre told students, keep improving yourself in some way.
Officers from several divisions also talked briefly about their respective careers.
Sheriff Tregre and the officers agreed it was a great morning with these young people, and they were grateful to ESJ for the invitation to celebrate the achievements of these students .
