The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a home invasion that was reported around 11:15 p.m. on Monday.
Officers were called to a home in the 3000 block of Yorktowne Drive in LaPlace after a husband and wife reported that five people forced their way into the home. The intruders wore masks over their faces and were wearing all black clothing. The intruders ransacked the house. Several items were reported stolen.
The 55-year-old man was hit in the head and required medical attention. The 50-year-old woman was not injured.
