Four St. John the Baptist Parish men have been arrested and booked with possession of a machine gun by St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies. Three of the men were arrested in Reserve, Louisiana on Wednesday, Sept. 25, following a traffic stop and booked with additional charges. In an unrelated stop, a fourth man was arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 24, following a traffic stop in LaPlace, La.
Detectives with the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle in Reserve. During the course of that traffic stop, detectives recovered three handguns, 18 Tapentadol tablets and marijuana from the vehicle. Detectives also located gloves and masks during their search of the vehicle. Of the three firearms recovered one was stolen and one was equipped with a device commonly known as a “Switch” which is used to convert the gun from semi-automatic to being fully automatic.
As a result of the traffic stop investigation all three subjects in the vehicle were arrested. The subjects arrested were identified as Andrew Anderson Jr., Jarien Anderson, both of LaPlace and Jaylen Anderson of Garyville. Andrew and Jarien Anderson are brothers. Jaylen Anderson is their cousin.
On Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024, St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in LaPlace. During the course of that traffic stop, patrol deputies located and recovered one Windham .223 caliber rifle, .223 rifle ammunition, approximately 15 grams of marijuana, and a “Switch”.
As a result of the traffic stop, Samir Wilkens of LaPlace was arrested and booked into the Sherman Walker Correctional Center in LaPlace. The driver, Antonio Sanders of Gonzales, was also arrested for active warrants for St. John Sheriff’s Office.

Andrew Anderson is being held in the St. John Parish jail. Bond was set by Judge Vercell Fiffie at $17,850.
