A LaPlace man is in the St. John the Baptist Parish jail after being arrested for theft and armed robbery of a pizza delivery driver. Montrell Isom, 18, was arrested Tuesday, Dec. 10 after St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office investigators used technology to connect Isom to two separate incidents involving the same delivery driver.

In the first incident, reported Friday, Nov. 29, a Domino’s Pizza delivery driver was accosted in the 2700 block of Williamsburg Drive at 11:59 p.m. while attempting to make what he thought was a legitimate delivery to a home in the area. Instead, Isom approached the delivery driver once the driver exited the car and took the pizza from his hands without paying. The driver also gave Isom $20.

The second incident was reported Saturday, Dec. 7 at 11:20 p.m. in the 2800 block of Williamsburg Drive. The delivery driver was again accosted by Isom who pointed a gun at the driver and demanded the pizza and cash. The driver gave him the pizza and $20.

In both instances Isom was describe to be wearing dark clothing, including a black neck gaiter that partially covered his face.

During the course of the investigation it was learned that Isom called in both orders using the same telephone number, which was registered to him. During a search of his residence the pizza box was found in his trash can.

Isom has been booked with theft and armed robbery and is being held in the parish jail. Bond has not been set.
