St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies recovered four guns, illegal narcotics and arrested three suspects after they tried to elude deputies who were attempting to conduct a traffic stop on Cambridge Drive in LaPlace on Friday, Feb. 21.

Around 9:21 p.m. on Friday, deputies conducting proactive enforcement attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle turning north onto Cambridge Drive.

The driver refused to stop, with the vehicle reaching speeds of 45 mph in a posted 20 mph on Cambridge. The vehicle then traveled in the opposite lane of the roadway, approaching the intersection of St. Andrews Boulevard. Disregarding the stop sign, the vehicle continued west on St. Andrews Boulevard and turned north on Williamsburg Drive, with speeds approaching almost 40 mph.

The vehicle suddenly stopped in the 3000 block of Williamsburg, and three males fled from the vehicle, including the driver. Deputies chased the subjects on foot, while other deputies utilized drones to help apprehend the subjects.

When deputies approached the vehicle, they observe multiple firearms and a large amount of narcotics in plain view inside of the vehicle.

Deputies recovered, two Glock handguns, a Springfield 9mm handgun and an AR-15 pistol with a 40-round magazine with armor-piercing rounds and hollow points.

Over an ounce of marijuana, multiple tablets of MDMA, narcotic equipment, and cell phones also were recovered from the vehicle.

The driver, Tosh Joseph, 23, of LaPlace was arrested for the following:

Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felony (Felony)
Possession of Firearm with CDS (Felony)
Aggravated Flight from Officer by Vehicle (Felony)
Flight from an Officer (Misdemeanor)
Possession With Intent to Distribute Marijuana- (Felony)
Possession of Methamphetamine (Felony)
Contempt of Court (Felony)

Joseph is being held in the parish jail under a $76,850 bond.

The two passengers in the car, Sy Osborne 22, and Quincy Expose,21, both of LaPlace, were arrested for the following:

Possession of Firearm with CDS (Felony)
Possession With Intent to Distribute Marijuana- (Felony)
Possession of Methamphetamine (Felony)

Expose has been released under a $25,000 bond. Osborne remains in the parish jail under a $20,100 bond.
