Eight St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were among the 20 graduates of the Peace Officer Standards and Training program (POST) Class 2025-42 conducted by the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office Training Academy in Luling.

The 17-week program included training in firearms, physical fitness, Louisiana criminal and traffic law, writing reports, conducting interrogations and general investigative techniques.

Deputies A’Lynn Becnel, Wyatt Callaway, Logan Camus, Christopher Destor, Khristion Duronslet, Lee Haydel, Clinton Hebert and Kordell Vance were recognized as certified Peace Officers on Friday, Nov.14, 2025, during POST graduation at the SCSO’s facility.

St. John deputies were recognized in several categories for their outstanding leadership, including scholarship and marksmanship. Deputy Clinton Hebert was recognized as the salutatorian and Deputy Wyatt Callaway earned the Top Shooter Award. In fact, the top five highest awards for firearms were all St. John Parish deputies!

In addition, Deputy Cordell Vance was Cadet Commander for Class 2025-42 and Deputies Khristion Duronslet, Christopher Dester and Logan Camus were squad leaders.

“I’m very proud of these deputies for their perseverance and sacrifice in not only completing this rigorous training, but for also excelling as leaders,” Sheriff Mike Tregre said. “I know they are more than ready to serve our community with honor and dedication.”
