The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Reserve man, who fled a traffic stop on foot on April 14, 2026, and booked him with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and resisting an officer by fight.

Irine Bailey, 22, of Reserve, who eluded arrest after running into a wooded area, was arrested at his residence on Thursday, April 23, 2026, without incident.

At 1:20 p.m. on April 14, officers with the St. John Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division and Narcotics Division conducted a traffic stop on a red Nissan Sentra in the 3500 block of Highway 51 in LaPlace. As deputies approached the vehicle, the passenger, later identified as Bailey, ran into a wooded area. Detectives and Patrol Deputies, along with SWAT, searched the area but were unable to locate Bailey, who is a convicted felon currently on parole.

The driver, Roquan King, 23, of Reserve, was arrested on scene for possession of Tapentadol.

Detectives also located a rifle on the front passenger’s side floorboard of the Nissan Sentra.

Bailey’s criminal history includes convictions for second degree rape, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and principal to aggravated burglary. Bailey is currently being held in the parish jail.
