The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested two male juveniles, both age 14 from LaPlace, in connection with the burglary of St. Charles Catholic High School in LaPlace. The juveniles were arrested on Friday, July 3, 2026 and booked with unauthorized entry of a place of business (felony) and simple burglary of an immovable structure.
The juveniles confessed to the crime during an interview with SJSO investigators. All of the items that were reported stolen have been recovered.
The juveniles were released into the custody of their parents.
The SJSO shared photos of the suspects on social media that were taken from the school’s security cameras requesting the public’s help in identifying them.
“I appreciate the community for all the calls in helping us identify the suspects,” Sheriff Mike Tregre said. “I especially appreciate the family members who recognized the subjects and brought them in. They didn’t tolerate it. They didn’t condone it. Thank you for that.”
The Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the incident and an additional arrest is possible.
