On Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at 3:55 pm, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office dispatchers received a call from Ochsner River Parish Hospital personnel reporting that a 30-year-old male victim walked in the emergency room with a gunshot wound to his back near his left shoulder. He was transferred to a New Orleans area hospital for treatment. Thirteen minutes later, dispatchers received a call, and the caller stated that he was driving from the Belle Pointe Subdivision to Ochsner River Parish Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound. The 29-year-old male victim drove himself to the hospital for treatment, but later, he refused treatment and left the hospital against the advice medical personnel. He sustained a gunshot wound to his arm.
St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the hospital and the Belle Pointe Subdivision to investigate the shooting. A third passenger in the car, a 28-year-old man, told investigators that he was passenger in the rear seat of the car during the shooting. He was uninjured. The 30-year-old victim was the driver, and the 29-year-old victim was the front seat passenger.
The initial investigation revealed to investigators that possibly two shooters fired multiple shots in the direction of the car hitting two victims.
Detectives have no motive or suspects.
