Stephen Kropog |
St. John Parish detectives arrested Stephen Kropog, 39, of LaPlace on Friday, June 3, 2016 in connection with a fraudulent posting of an explicit sex-related ad on Craigslist.
Responding to a complaint on May 22, 2016 in reference to a fraudulent Craigslist ad involving the female complainant, detectives began an investigation and learned that on May 20 Kropog posted an ad inviting people to participate in a group sexual encounter at the female victim’s residence. On May 22 a man responded to the ad, showing up at the victim’s residence. The victim told detectives she was completely unaware of what was going on, and when she questioned the man about the ad, he left her residence. The victim was unharmed. Detectives do not believe the man who went to the victim’s residence is connected to the ad posting. Following the investigation, detectives executed a judicial court ordered search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Tammy Drive and arrested Kropog without incident. He was charged with cyber stalking and online impersonation as well as possession of steroids. He is being held in custody, pending bond, at the St. John Parish Correctional Center.
Any other incidents similar to this case should be reported to the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office TIPS line at 985-359-TIPS or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
