Victim of Homicide

On Thursday, April 20, 2006, at 1:05 pm, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a suicide at 237 Daffodil Street in Mt. Airy. The officers found Debra Strayer lying on the floor with a gunshot wound to the head a revolver was found on the bed next to Strayer. The initial complaint reported the death as a suicide; however, through further investigation the death was found to have occurred by the act of another person; therefore the manner of death was reclassified as homicide.
