The property described in the Act of Mortgage is described as follows:

A certain lot of ground, together with all the rights, ways, privileges, servitudes and advantages thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining and forming a portion of that certain tract of land situated in Section 41, Township 11 South, Range 7 East, S.E., District of Louisiana, East of the Mississippi River, in the Parish of St. John the Baptist, that was awarded to Alexander Jacob in the Partition of Property of Adam Jacob and his wife, Mariana Clement by an act passed before Terrence LeBlanc, Parish Judge of Ex-Officio Notary on May 19, 1842, and registered in COB “T”, Page 207 et esq, of the Parish of St. John the Baptist, which property was surveyed by Geo H. Grandjean, C.E., and Surveyor, on April 9, 1892, a copy of which survey being for record with the Act of Partition before Terrance LeBlanc on May 25, 1842, in the Original Acts of 1842 of the Parish of St. John the Baptist, which survey is hereby made a part of reference, said lot of ground commencing 600 feet South of the :Field Fence: and then measures therefrom in a Southerly direction a distance of 120 feet more or less, by a depth between equal and parallel lines of 105.92 feet, said lot being bounded on the front, or river side, by the property of Denis Vicknair or assigns, on the back or woods and side by the vendors, on the upper side by the tract formerly belonging to Drozin Jacob, and on the lower side by the tract formerly belonging to Celestin Jacob.
