On Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at 9:53 am, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Emily C. Watkins Elementary School in LaPlace for the report of a burglary. The initial investigation revealed to deputies that a perpetrator or perpetrators entered the school through an unsecured door. Administrators reported that the perpetrator(s) stole a bag of candy and cut off the tail of a lizard that was in an aquarium.
Recorded video – click here – surveillance at the school captured two subjects on the school grounds. Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the two persons of interest wanted for questioning in the investigation.
