St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies arrested a Hammond man Tuesday (Nov. 19, 2024) who is wanted in connection with attempted second degree murder, home invasion, armed robbery and other charges. Malike Andrews, 20, was arrested after deputies found him in an SUV that was reported stolen from Hammond, La.

The vehicle, a tan Subaru SUV, was parked near the rear of a LaPlace business. Andrews was seen in the driver’s seat.

Andrews was arrested and booked with resisting an officer by refusing identity(MISD) and illegal possession of stolen things, a felony.

Andrews was also booked with the two outstanding fugitive warrants. One is from the Tangipahoa Sheriff’s Office for attempted second degree murder, home invasion and armed robbery. The second warrant is from Livingston Parish for possession of a stolen firearm and simple burglary.

Andrews is being held in the St. John parish jail under a $26,500 bond.
