David Eames, 48, of Reserve was arrested April 16, 2024 in connection to illegal drugs activity in St. John the Baptist Parish.
In early April, the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division began an investigation of Eames and his involvement in the distribution of illegal narcotics, specifically methamphetamines, in St. John the Baptist Parish.
Eames has an arrest history including, but not limited to simple burglary, attempted murder, vehicular negligent injuring, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
During the course of the investigation, detectives conducted a traffic stop and subsequent search warrant on April 15, 2024 at his residence in the 100 block of West First Street in Reserve. During the search of the residence, detectives recovered about 32 grams of crystal methamphetamine, five suspected MDMA tablets, one Hydrocodone tablet, $1,020 in cash, a loaded handgun, three assault style rifles, a large cache of various types of ammunition, and miscellaneous gun parts. Detectives know through prior training and experience that the evidence recovered was consistent with the distribution of illegal narcotics.
Eames was arrested at the residence and charged with possession with intent to distribute MDMA (felony); possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine (felony); possession of hydrocodone, two counts of illegal carrying of weapon with controlled dangerous substance; prohibited acts, drug paraphernalia (misd); transactions involving proceeds from controlled dangerous substance activity.
He is being held in custody in lieu of a $111,669.50 bond.
