Casey Spies, who has been arrested more than 40 times in St. John the Baptist Parish alone, was arrested once again on Monday, Sept. 23, and booked with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Spies’ most recent arrest is the result of a St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division investigation. The Narcotics Division began conducting an investigation in late June 2024 regarding Spies and his involvement in the distribution of illegal narcotics, specifically methamphetamine, in St. John the Baptist Parish, Louisiana.

During his apprehension on Sept. 23, Spies fled from police in the Carrollwood Drive area of LaPlace on an electric bicycle. After a brief pursuit, Spies was taken into custody by narcotics detectives. Spies was found to be in possession of approximately 19 grams of crystal methamphetamine packaged for sale and multiple items of drug paraphernalia.

Spies has an arrest history dating back to 2008 for charges that include, but are not limited to, aggravated burglary, simple burglary, possession of methamphetamine, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, battery of a police officer, battery of a correctional facility employee, public intimidation, resisting an officer, second degree battery, false imprisonment, indecent behavior with juveniles, obscenity, telephone communications harassment, simple criminal damage, and theft over $1,500.

Spies was booked in the Sherman Walker Correctional Center with resisting an officer, possession with the intent to distribute a Schedule II (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Spies’ bond was set at $10,500 by Judge Vercell Fiffie. Spies bonded out on a 10% ($1,050) cash bond approximately two and a half hours after being booked.
