St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff‘s Office detectives arrest two subjects in connection with the report of gunshot fired on Tuesday, February 3, in the area of East 22nd Street and River Road in Reserve. Through witness accounts of the incident, detectives found a second victim. Based on the findings of the investigation and the victim‘s statement, detectives sought and obtained arrest warrants on Saturday for Corey Anderson, 21, of Boardwalk Street in LaPlace and Shaquille Matthews, 23, of Willow Street in LaPlace.
On Friday, February 6, detectives arrested Corey Anderson on a fugitive warrant from Evangeline Parish and booked him Saturday on a St. John the Baptist Parish arrest warrant for attempted second-degree murder and aggravated criminal damage to property. Anderson remains in custody in lieu of a $205,000 bond. He was arrested 7 times in St. John the Baptist Parish since April 2010.
On Monday, February 9, detectives arrested Shaquille Matthews and booked him on a St. John the Baptist Parish arrest warrant for attempted second-degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Matthews remains in custody in lieu of a $295,000 bond. He was arrested 6 times in St. John the Baptist Parish since April 2008.
