The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a LaPlace man for firing a gun at a vehicle occupied by four people, including his two young children, Sunday (Feb.1, 2026) in Reserve.

No one was injured during the shooting.

St. John Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call at 9:10 p.m. from a motorist that another driver was following him and later had shot at his vehicle. The caller told deputies that the driver, later identified Krishon Stevens, fired a shot at the passenger side of his vehicle.

The deputy observed what appeared to be a bullet hole in the passenger front fender near the door jamb of the vehicle.

Prior to the shooting, the caller said that Stevens pulled up beside his vehicle and started shouting at the caller’s girlfriend, who is the mother of Stevens’ two children, ages 3 and 1, who were also in the vehicle.

Through the course of the investigation detectives located Stevens and his passenger, who was not charged in the incident.

Stevens was arrested Monday, Feb. 2, and booked with:
• Assault by drive-by shooting (Felony)
• Aggravated criminal damage to property (Felony)
• Aggravated Assault with a firearm (Felony)
• Illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities
• Aggravated assault with a firearm (Felony)
• Aggravated assault with a firearm (Felony)
• Aggravated assault with a firearm (Felony)

He is being held in the parish jail under a $310,000 bond.
