September 26, 2016, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Guidry’s Goodies on West Airline Highway in Reserve for the report of a sum of cash that was stolen during the burglary of the business. With recorded video surveillance recovered from the business, detectives identified the suspect as Ryan Stewart, 22, of Reserve and obtained a judicial court ordered arrest warrant for Stewart for simple burglary. When detectives arrested Stewart, he possessed a camera bag that contained a camera and lens that were reported stolen May 2015 in Reserve. Subsequently, detectives obtained a second judicial court ordered arrest warrant for Stewart for illegal possession of stolen things.
Detectives booked Ryan Stewart with simple burglary and illegal possession of stolen things. He remains in custody in lieu of a $35,000 bond. Stewart was arrested four times in St. John the Baptist Parish since February 2015. Previous arrests were for simple battery and a traffic attachment, February, 2015; illegal possession of stolen things, March, 2015; and 3 counts of simple burglary and simple escape, December, 2015.
